At the end of July, once the horses had returned from there holidays, we visited the Household Cavalry Museum in Windsor.
We were made most welcome, after a talk about the history of the regiments we were given a guided tour around the site including admiring the horses. We learnt about the shoeing of them & how they are trained & looked after. We also saw the modern side of the regiment with their armoured reconnaissance division.
After a very good (and cheep) lunch we then were allowed to touch & feel weapons old & new with one of our party dressing up as a trooper.
With many stories of life in this regiment told to us & two of our members having had personal attendants to help them gain as much as possible from the day we from the Chavey Down WI would like to thank the museum curators for a truly memorable day
As they say Don’t Mess with Chavey Down WI
