Jane Austen’s House Museum

As it was the 200th anniversary of the death in 1817 of Britain’s best-loved writer Jane Austen we decided to make a visit to Jane Austen’s House Museum in Chawton, Hampshire which is the only house where Jane lived and wrote that is open to the public as a museum. An excellent turn out & the rain held off until the end of the visit

The visit started in true WI style with refreshments in the Bistro opposite the museum followed by a very informative visit and as you can see by the photographs the trip was enjoyed by all the youngsters
