Like all WIs we raise fund for ourselves and for other causes, we run events and join events for this purpose.

Harmans Water Fete – May 2022

Chavey Down Women’s Institute hosted a stall at the Harmans Water Primary School fete, selling cakes baked and plants grown and donated by members.

A stalwart team manned the stall all day, and sold nearly all the cakes, making about £245 which is great! Many members of the Vocalese choir (to which some of our members belong, and who were performing ont he day) including the choir master bought cakes. The weather was lovely and there were a lot of people there enjoying the sunshine and entertainment – school choir, display of dance and the adult choir. It was a pleasant afternoon and we have made a good contribution to funds.
