Race Night

For our August meeting, Ascot came to Chavey Down WI in the form of a wonderful night of food, wine and horseracing.

We had a savoury buffet with a mix of cheeses, pate, breads and pickles followed by a race night: a Tote was set up and the racing began – even though these horses were just racing on a screen we cheered and encouraged our horses on and for some there was the thrill of watching your horse push his way through the group to take the lead and for others… well, there was always the next race.

The last race was the Chavey Down special with all the horses named after committee members! A very entertaining evening.
